NEW DELHI: Last week a news report surfaced online suggesting that Amazon’s digital assistant Alexarecorded the private conversation of a couple and then sent to another Amazon Echo user. The company then investigated and acknowledged the issue and blamed it on some misunderstandings on part of the virtual assistant.
The company said that Alexa misunderstood the background conversations as commands and as a result it recorded and sent the private conversation to a random contact from the family’s contact list.
So, in case you are using an Amazon Echo smart speaker and have also installed the Alexa app on your smartphone, then you can keep a track of all the conversations that the virtual personal assistant has recorded inside your home and you can also delete these files
In order to delete the recorded files you just need to follow some simple steps. Firstly, open the Alexa app and then tap on the hamburger icon placed on the left side of the screen. Then tap on the Settings and scroll down to history. After this, click on the history and you will now be able to listen to some of your voice conversations with Alexa.
Once you have played all the recordings then you can also send feedback about Alexa to Amazon. The voice recording under the History section can be deleted by tapping on the bar which says, ‘Delete Voice Recording’.
Recently, Amazon Alexa in India has got new features such as ability to set music alarms. This feature allows the users to set their favourite song or music as the alarm tone. The users can select any song from Amazon Prime Music, Saavn or radio stations with TuneIN.
