BSNL to provide faster Fibre-to-the-Home internet speeds with up to 1500GB FUP limit

State-owned telecom operator BSNL is gearing up to take on Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) providers like JioFibre, ACT and Spectra in Chennai with an FUP limit of 1500GB for its Rs 4,999 plan. BSNL will be offering 100Mbps speed till the FUP of 1500GB after which the speed will drop to 2Mbps post the limit

The new Rs 4999 FTTH plan by BSNL also offering free voice calls to BSNL numbers along with a singular email ID access and one free static IP address, according to a report by TelecomTalk. BSNL has upgraded its other plans as well which costs—Rs 999, Rs. 1,299, Rs. 1,699, Rs. 1,999, Rs. 2,999

The BSNL Rs 999 FTTH internet plan will now come with an FUP limit of 250GB at 60Mbps speed. The Rs 1,299 FTTH plan will offer an FUP limit of 400GB while the Rs 1,699 and Rs 1,999 has an FUP limit of 550GB and 800GB respectively. Also, the Rs 2,999 FTTH plan offers an FUP of 900GB

Also, the FTTH plans of Rs 1,299, Rs 1,699, Rs 1,999, Rs 2,999 will offer 80Mbps of upload and download speeds. And not to forget there is a limited period offer of free installation along with unlimited local and STD voice calling benefits to all numbers.

In another news, BSNL has recently launched a prepaid unlimited plan for Rs 118. With a validity of 28 days, the new BSNL Rs 118 plan is available in telecom circles including Kolkata, Tamil Nadu, Chennai for prepaid subscribers.

 The plan offers unlimited voice calls—local, STD and national roaming across the country. However, BSNL charges standard call rates for voice calls made to mobile numbers in Delhi-NCR and Mumbai telecom circles, despite the ‘unlimited voice call’ claim, unlike private players like Jio, Airtel and Vodafone.
