You read that right! Google’s upcoming Pixel 7 series is launching in India. Probably. There are going to be two phones under the Pixel 7 series, the Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro, which the tech giant has confirmed to unveil at an event it is hosting on October 6. Now, a Flipkart listing shows that both the Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro are heading to the Indian market as well.
Update (time: 7:13pm): Google has confirmed the news. The Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro are both coming to India soon. The company will unveil the phones globally on October 6 and is yet to announce the India launch date.
Notably, Google has not confirmed the Pixel 7 series India launch yet. But if the Flipkart teaser is considered, Pixel fanatics and camera enthusiasts are going to rejoice. Well, that’s clearly because the last flagship Pixel devices that were brought to the Indian market were the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL. All the following phones, including last year’s Pixel 6 series, never made it to the Indian market. But, it looks like things are going to change this year and, finally, Indians are going to experience a flagship Pixel phone after 2018.
The Pixel 7 series teaser on Flipkart appeared for just a few minutes on the Big Billion Days sale page. But the link for the Pixel 7 India launch page is still live and you can check the screenshot below.
Of late, Google hasn’t been regular in bringing its Pixel phones to the Indian market. In the last few years, we have only seen some of the affordable Pixel phones launching in India, the latest one being the Pixel 6a.
Now, if at all the Pixel 7 series arrives in India, it will compete against the likes of iPhone 14 models and Samsung’s Galaxy S22 series. We know almost everything about the upcoming Pixel phones. Google has officially revealed the design of the Pixel 7 series and both the phones will come with a design pretty much similar to that of the Pixel 6 series. Maybe there will be some new colour options this time to make the Pixel 7 series stand out a bit. This year’s Pixel phones are also expected to come with the company’s latest Tensor chip — Tensor G2 and some more tweaks here and there on the hardware front.
If Google officially plans to bring the Pixel 7 series to India, it will be a big move by the company. The company paused the launch of flagship Pixel phones in the country from the Pixel 4 series because its Soli radar hardware didn’t meet the guidelines for use in the country. So, let’s wait for Google to officially confirm the arrival of the Pixel 7 series in India.
