This couple in US threw an Amazon-themed wedding to celebrate their love story with unique e-commerce connection

When it came time to tie the knot, Levin tossed the idea of doing a full-blown Amazon themed wedding.

A couple in the United States, who first met at an Atlanta e-commerce conference in 2016, tied the knot in an Amazon themed wedding.

After meeting for the first time in 2016, Eddie Levine and Jing Gao shared their first kiss outside an Amazon seller summit in New Orleans.

The two later brought their e-commerce businesses inside one house in 2020 as Goa moved in with Levine in Chicago from hometown Los Angeles, according to a report in CNBC.com.

So when the two decided to say ‘I do’ on August 21, 2022, throwing an e-commerce themed wedding for their big day just made sense to the couple.

Everything about the wedding was inspired by Amazon, including return gifts for the guests, seating arrangement and more. At the wedding reception, the family and friends of the newly wed couple were assigned to tables designated by a ten-digit code. Amazon uses such codes to allow users to do a quick search about their products on the website.

While the Amazon-themed wedding may have confused some, surprising many, it held a deeper meaning for Levine and Gao, who have worked in e-commerce for over a decade.

Gao runs an Amazon business selling home decor products, whereas Levine is president and co-founder of Hub Dub, a company that provides brand logistics services and helps run their businesses online. The two even met for the first time at an Atlanta conference.

Though sparks were not flying at the first meeting, the two continued to bump into each other on multiple occasions on the e-commerce conference circuit and that led to a friendship, which turned into a romance in June 2018.

At Amazon’s Boost conference for third-party sellers in New Orleans in June 2018, which also happened to be Gao’s 29th birthday, the two shared their first kiss and the rest is history.

When it came time to tie the knot, Levin tossed the idea of doing a full-blown Amazon themed wedding.

“We went through all these ideas, and they were so boring,” Levine told CNBC.com. “I wanted something that showcased our background and gave homage to where we came from.”
